WebXam Tests - retake policy changeThe Ohio Department of Education, Office of CTE and WebXam are pleased to announce that WebXam tests now may be retaken in the same school year by graduating students after allowing for additional instruction time. This change enhances opportunities for students to demonstrate technical skills attainment for the purpose of graduation and report cards. The policy for WebXam same-year retakes includes: - Graduating students may retake most WebXam tests once in their final school year.
- A retake must be scheduled at least 30 days after the original assessment was performed.
- Field tests may NOT be retaken due to the length of the tests and earlier closing of the field test window.
Additional information regarding WebXam can be found on the Career-Technical Education Assessment webpage. |

Testing UpdatesNo Pretesting (Health Science): We want to alert you that there will be no pretesting available for all courses in the Health Science career field for the 2021-2022 school year. The assessments for these courses will be in field testing. Please email us at webxam@osu.edu if you have questions or need additional information. Field Testing: All field tests for courses in Construction Technologies are now available. These field tests, each with approximately 95 items, contain the new items that were written to align with the revised course outlines and will become the new pre- and posttests for these courses next school year. Please be sure to try to set aside enough time for your students to take the exam in one sitting. |

Baking & Pastry Arts - Validation & Standard Setting SurveyIn order to finalize a CTAN and post-secondary credit for Baking & Pastry Arts, ODE and ODHE are adding a performance assessment to the course. The new assessment will utilize a standardized rubric to evaluate students on their application of skills and knowledge while baking a pastry. To help finalize the rubric, recipes, and other elements of the grading process, CETE is seeking feedback from Baking & Pastry Arts instructors through a survey. If you teach Baking & Pastry Arts, please look for an email inviting you to this survey sent on March 11, 2021. If you do not receive an email and would like to participate, please email Bridget McHugh at mchugh.159@osu.edu to be added to the list. Interested instructors must take the survey by April 19th, 2021. We urge all instructors who expect to teach Baking & Pastry Arts to take the survey, as these responses will have a large influence on the final assessment, including the passing score. |
