Teacher Review Workshops

WebXam Teacher Review workshops allow career-technical education instructors a formal opportunity to review and comment on finalized WebXam tests. Teacher Review Workshops are held in Columbus, Ohio, throughout the school year. More information, including cost and registration, can be found at the link below. The last two reviews of the year will be held on March 5, 2020 and April 3, 2020. Seating will be limited. Register early to save your spot.

Pretesting for Construction in Fall 2020

Staff would like to remind you that the pretests for Construction Technologies will be available for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. They will not be available next year (2020-2021) due to field testing of item banks now under revision. For any questions or concerns, please contact us at support@webxam.org. Your participation enables us to create a more thorough test, which can help your students succeed.

Welding Performance Assessment

The Ohio Department of Education Office of Career-Technical Education is investing in a Welding Performance Assessment so that learners can demonstrate their skills by producing a 1G (flat-groove) weld.

A guidebook provides an outline of procedures to conduct the pilot test for the four Welding Courses during 2019-20. Included are the Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), a Scoring Checklist, screenshots of the WebXam User Interface for assessors and students, and procedural suggestions.

After the pilot test ends, a statewide field test will be conducted during the 2020-21 school year, with materials finalized after the field test is complete, and the system will be launched in 2021-22.

Validation for Construction Technologies

Recruiting for validation of Construction items will begin in late spring/ early summer. If you a Construction Technologies instructor or professional, we are looking for subject-matter-experts (SMEs) to conduct validation and standard setting for this career field and its pathways. The Ohio Department of Education's CTE Program and Assessment Matrix is designed to help educators identify the tests required for their CTE pathway programs. Details about programs and assessments can be downloaded for FY2019 and are available in draft form for FY2020.
