Fall Pretesting Window is Closing 9/13/19

Posttesting Window Opens in October

Beginning September 30th, 2019, WebXam will post all available practice tests, posttests, and field tests. This also opens the teacher effectiveness windows. Teachers and administrators should reference the FY19 or FY20 Assessment Matrix on ODE's website for guidance on which tests are available for your courses.

• Pathway-based practice tests contain 20 items and are designed to provide students and teachers an opportunity to experience taking a WebXam test to become familiar with the item types and the testing system. Results are not used for reporting purposes.
• Field tests contain 80-100 items, and their purpose is to collect data on newly developed item banks. Only items that are included in the finalized posttest form are included in students' final test scores. Please arrange for more time to allow students to complete the tests that are still field testing.
• Posttests contain 40-items and are finalized test forms with delivery required after course instruction is complete. Posttests results are reported to EMIS by local districts, and to ODE-CTE.

WebXam User's Workshop on 10/9/19

The 2019-2020 WebXam User's Workshop will take place at CETE on October 9th, 2019. Learn how to navigate the new system, conduct tests, and run reports. Teachers and administrators new to WebXam are encouraged to attend this informational session. If you can't attend in person, you can watch a live recording on our News site. Welding Validation Survey

An online survey was recently distributed to approximately 100 Ohio CTE welding instructors for validation of a checklist created to evaluate performance after taking one of four courses (Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, and Flux Cored Welding). The standard checklist features 30 elements (Yes-No) that cover four stages of the welding skills test: Preparation, Welding, Cleaning, and Examination/Bend Test. The performance test score will be combined with end of course knowledge exam score into a composite score like the course Education Principles. The survey will be open until late September. We hope to get your responses, as they will help us determine scoring for these new assessments.
