Preparing for End-of-Year Testing

As spring arrives, we encourage WebXam teachers and administrators to review the upcoming WebXam deadlines for the school year.

Upcoming deadlines include:

  • The last day to upload student data in bulk is April 5, 2019. Past this deadline, school district staff will not be able to use the data file processing tool and will have to enter students individually (manually).
  • April 26, 2019 is last day to offer posttests for school districts who are using the pretest and posttests to measure their students' improvement - student gain will not be available if the post test is given after this date.
  • The last day for students to take field tests is April 26, 2019. Field testing is used to collect student performance data on tests, which requires an earlier close date to allow time for processing.
  • May 31, 2019 is the last day for WebXam testing for all other tests.

It is important that test administrators plan for the upcoming dates as it is not possible for us to make exceptions.

All WebXam deadlines are available at the WebXam Calendar.

WebXam Update: Graduation Year Field Now Available (BETA)

WebXam staff have listened to your requests and have updated the system to allow setting the student graduation year as part of the student record; this information identifies the expected school year of graduation or when the student did graduate. This information is can be set in the secondary student edit page or can be change via bulk action; the Testing and Pathway reports allow you to limit results by graduation year.

Reminder - No Pretesting for Engineering & Manufacturing in 2020

Staff reminds you that the pretests for Engineering and Manufacturing will not be available next year (2019-20) due to field testing of item banks now under revision. For any questions or concerns, please contact us at webxam@osu.edu.

Teaching Professions Clarification on Education Principles Retakes

Technical support receives occasional inquiries about retaking Education Principles (350010) which has two scored components, an End-of-Course (EoC) Test and a Portfolio. If this course is not passed as a junior, it is possible to retake the assessment package as a senior. Due to the course score being a composite of the components the best strategy is to retake the EoC test and resubmit the portfolio as a senior (with any revisions suggested by assessors or an additional year of learning experiences). Rescoring will only take place if both the test and portfolio are resubmitted in the same year.
