Preparing for End-of-Year Reporting

Administrators can use the “End of Year Export” report in WebXam to verify their students’ pathways are set correctly and check student scores to be sure they meet the proficiency standard. If a student did not pass their pathway, and they are returning next year they may retake their tests to raise scores. WebXam allows student to retake a test once per year, the highest score is kept.

Items to review before final reports are produced on June 15, 2018:

  • Review the students' "Reported Pathway" setting. Only tests in the reported pathway are included in calculating the overall pathway score reported to the ITC’s. If your students are set to the wrong pathway they will be scored based on an incorrect set of tests.
  • Verify that your students have the correct SSID entered on their accounts. The SSID is used to uniquely identify each student in the reports.

Test Validation Sessions for Information Technology

Test-validation sessions are held separately from item-writing, and all IT SMEs are encouraged to participate. During the test-validation process, Subject-Matter Experts (SMEs) are invited to review the test items and make recommendations for the performance standards.

A second validation for IT test items will take place at the end of JUNE - if you an IT instructor or professional, we are looking for subject-matter experts (SMEs) to come visit us at CETE and review the questions written during the 2017/2018 item-writing year. You can email your interest in participation here! Lunch, parking, a stipend (if you are out of school), and other reimbursements will be provided – come network with your fellow teachers. Your participation can help your students succeed – this is one of the last opportunities to participate in the test process!

What is a SME?
