Winter Pretest Window Opening

The use of pretests can help document student gain, along with the observations and measurements conducted directly by the instructor and other local district staff. The window for winter pretesting is January 2 through 26, 2018. As a reminder, students must take the posttest on or before April 27 2018, in order to receive a student gain calculation, which LEA must report to the state by May 15, 2018.

Posttests and field tests will still be available during the winter pretest window so it is important to activate the correct test.

Test Update: Principles of Nutrition and Wellness

The WebXam test for 091225 Principles of Nutrition and Wellness including questions related to updated content standards is now live and available for activation. The test is currently in field testing (meaning there are more items on the test), but any pretest taken this school year will still be valid for Teacher Effectiveness rating.

2017 Pretest-Posttest Survey

WebXam requests your participation in a brief online survey. Participants will be asked to consider the levels of teacher effectiveness as stated by the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES) and provide judgments about how student gain from pretest to posttest links to different teacher effectiveness levels. The survey will remain open until late December.

WebXam Teacher Test Review workshops allow career-technical education instructors a formal professional development opportunity to review finalized WebXam tests. Teacher Test Reviews are held in Columbus, Ohio, throughout the school year. More information, including cost and registration, can be found at the link below. Professional Development Offerings

CETE has a series of professional development offerings focused on the importance of testing, WebXam Quick start guides, and creating quality multiple-choice test items. These modules are free and located at: http://u.osu.edu/ceteassessment/pd/

Users of WebXam may have noticed a recent schedule change on the calendar which moved the last day for field-testing to April 27, 2018. The explanation for this is that there is change in graduation requirements, specifically Option 2 for CTE student graduation, and in the graduation dates for many high schools. CETE staff needs time to finalize the forms, and thus we recommended to the ODE Office of CTE that we move up the deadline. The deadline for CETE to post rescored field tests aligned with performance standards is now May 11, 2018. The last day for giving posttests remains June 1.
