2016 Pretest Posttest Survey

WebXam requests your participation in a brief online survey. Participants will be asked to consider the levels of teacher effectiveness as stated by the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES) and provide judgments about how student gain from pretest to posttest links to different teacher effectiveness levels. The survey will remain open until late December.

Winter Pretest Window

The use of pretests is recognized by the Ohio Department of Education as a method to help document student gain, along with the observations and measurements conducted directly by the instructor and other local district staff. The window for winter pretesting is January 2 through 27, 2017. As a reminder, students must take the posttest before April 21, 2017, in order to receive a student gain calculation, which must be reported to the state by May 1, 2017.

Posttests will still be available during the winter pretest window so it is important to verify the correct test is being activated. Incorrectly assigned pretests or posttests that have been scored cannot be unsubmitted. The pretests will be available to any student during the window that has the corresponding posttest assigned.

Teacher Test Reviews

WebXam Teacher Test Review workshops allow career-technical education instructors a formal opportunity to review finalized WebXam tests. Teacher Test Reviews are held in Columbus, Ohio, throughout the school year. More information, including cost and registration, can be found at the link below. The next review will be held January 11, 2017.

CTE Assessment Matrix

The CTE Assessment System Matrix is designed to help educators identify the tests required for their CTE pathway programs. The Matrix document identifies which WebXam tests should be taken based on CTE Pathway Name, SubjectCode, and student grade level.

About the Assessments

The WebXam About the Assessments page lists important details about the CTE tests currently offered in WebXam. Details include how many questions are in the test, whether the test is in field testing, what the cutoff score is, whether pretests are available, and what the rules are for passing the pathway test.
