New Pretests Released

CETE announces the continuation of an optional system supporting Ohio Career-Technical Education in measuring gain through a pretest-instruction-posttest model. The use of pretests is recognized by the Ohio Department of Education as a method to help document student gain, along with the observations and measurements conducted directly by the instructor and other local district staff. To learn more about the pretests that are offered by WebXam, please follow the link below.

SSID’s in WebXam

New for the 2016-17 school year, WebXam now accepts Ohio's Statewide Student Identifier System (SSID) as the primary WebXam student identifier. Existing student accounts should be updated prior to testing to reflect their SSID, either manually via WebXam.org or through a student upload file. If you have any questions, please contact WebXam support.

Text to Speech

WebXam provides online testing for tens of thousands of students every year. Students with Individualized Education Programs (IEP) may require assistance that WebXam must accommodate. A common IEP accommodation is that a student may have a reader available while taking the test. In these situations, a proctor reads the test material to the student. The WebXam TTS solution can help provide assistance to students with the “A Reader is Required” accommodation. Text-to-Speech, or TTS for short, uses computer software to convert text into audible speech. The WebXam TTS solution was designed to be a simple and intuitive solution for students with an IEP that allows test questions to be read aloud to them.
